Joyce Schaunaman has many artistic accomplishments throughout her art career including being selected for juried art shows:
Art Maui, Artists of Hawaii, and the Hui No’eau Annual Juried Exhibition.
Joyce’s art work was shown on the cover of the Aloha Airlines magazine. And she was the first artist to be selected for the annual Lahaina Town Action Committee Poster Competition.
Joyce's beautiful modern impressionistic style invites viewers to appreciate her work. Her art has movement, rhythm, and combinations of colors that display a unique artistic vision.
Joyce’s artistic journey led her to achieve a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston.
On Maui she has continued to develop her skills in art, photography, history, and teaching.
Joyce’s first inspirations came from the artists Matisse, Derain, and Monet.
The dramatic light on Maui, the island people, and the unique and diverse natural settings inspire this artist.
